Kari Voutilainen is renowned for crafting exquisite, high-end timepieces that blend traditional watchmaking techniques with innovative designs. Each watch is meticulously handcrafted in Switzerland, reflecting the brand's commitment to precision and artistry.

Kari Voutilainen is a Finnish independent watchmaker who trained in Switzerland and established his own brand in 2002, based in Môtiers in the Swiss Jura. He is considered one of the finest contemporary watchmakers, celebrated for extraordinary hand-finishing, his 28SC movement (a refined version of the vintage Peseux 7001), and his ability to combine traditional Geneva finishing standards with his own aesthetic vision. His watches are produced in very small numbers.
Voutilainen is regarded by many experts as producing the finest hand-finished movements in contemporary watchmaking. His movements feature traditional anglage (bevelling), mirror-polished steel parts, côtes de Genève and perlage decoration, and hand-engraved balance cocks that reference 18th-century pocket watch craftsmanship. Every component is finished to standards that take watchmakers decades to achieve. This finishing quality is the primary reason his watches command prices far exceeding their complication content.
The Vingt-8 (28 in French) is Voutilainen's core collection — a refined time-only watch powered by his 28SC movement, available with extraordinary dial variations including enamel, guilloché, and meteorite. The Tourbillon and Masterpiece collections represent more complex horological content. His collaboration with dial maker Antti Rönkkö on astronomical displays, and his limited edition pieces with unusual materials like enamel miniatures, consistently generate the highest interest among serious collectors.
