Seiko is a renowned Japanese watch brand known for its precision, innovation, and craftsmanship. It offers a wide range of timepieces, from affordable models to luxury watches, catering to diverse consumer preferences.

Seiko holds a unique position in horological history as the brand that democratised precision timekeeping on a global scale. Founded in Tokyo in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori, Seiko developed the world's first quartz wristwatch — the Astron — in 1969, a breakthrough that fundamentally changed the industry. Beyond quartz, Seiko independently developed the Spring Drive movement, which combines a mechanical mainspring with a quartz-regulated glide wheel for near-perfect accuracy, representing one of the few genuinely novel escapement innovations in modern horology.
Seiko's most celebrated lines include the Prospex, home to legendary dive watches like the SKX007 and the Marinemaster, along with the Presage, which showcases traditional Japanese crafts such as enamel dials and lacquerwork. The Grand Seiko sub-brand — now positioned as a distinct luxury marque — is revered for its zaratsu-polished cases and exceptional finishing that rivals or exceeds many Swiss competitors. The 5 Sports series remains a benchmark for affordable mechanical watchmaking, consistently praised for its value and reliability.
Grand Seiko was established in 1960 as Seiko's highest expression of watchmaking, with an emphasis on extraordinary dial craftsmanship and meticulous case finishing using the zaratsu hand-polishing technique, which produces mirror-flat surfaces with crisp transitions between brushed and polished facets. Since 2017, Grand Seiko has operated as an independent luxury brand, producing movements including the Spring Drive and high-accuracy Hi-Beat calibres in its dedicated Shinshu and Shizukuishi watch studios in Japan. Its dials — many inspired by Japanese seasons and landscapes — are considered among the most beautiful in contemporary watchmaking.
